A Case of Several Jeopardies: A Study on the Intersecting Inequalities in the Everyday Lives of Poor Minority Christian Women and Girls in Pakistan

Category: Publication By: Naumana Suleman Posted on: December 1, 2020

This study is an effort to understand the situation of Christian poor women and girls in Pakistan, to bring poor Christian minority women’s issues to the attention of decision-makers, and to utilise its findings for awareness raising and advocacy for the rights and freedoms of minority women. The key research questions focused on exploring the daily life experiences of poor Christian women and girls to examine how these are different from other poor women from the same context, as well as inspecting whether the religious discrimination faced by poor Christian women differs from that faced by affluent Christian women.

This paper forms part of our Intersecting Inequalities series on ‘Violence and Discrimination against Women of Religious Minority Backgrounds in Pakistan’.
